About the mold: The XCaliber is extremely fast with glide and stability. The XCaliber achieves maximum distance when thrown low, flat, and hard. This is the one for confident bombs in windy conditions. The XCaliber has the stability to let the biggest arms throw with full power. Great disc for sidearm throwers and those with lots of power. Can handle headwinds and throws with off axis torque. Definitely not designed for beginning players.

Some notes on the Plastic: In 2004, an Innova employee who was working the night shift decided to experiment by making a run of Orcs with some combination of the only 2 premium plastics available at Innova at the time; Champion and Pro. The discs produced would come to be known as Nightshift Orcs. Most were given to Team Members to try out. Dave Feldberg loved the feel and durability of the new plastic so much he commissioned a small run of Sidewinders made with the same plastic blend. Innova released another batch of these Special Blend Orcs in 2005 as a fundraiser for the 2006 Tulsa AM/JR Worlds. 500 were made and offered as a special pre-release. November 2005, the name of Innova’s Special Blend was officially changed to Star.

The XCaliber was released in 2008 in Champion plastic as a fundraiser for the U.S. Masters Championship. It was later released in Star plastic with the iconic Protostar stamp.
